I was really looking forward to making use of this space, and this community. There were silly things here and there that baffled me, (pictures of my character, Amy, as drawn by , being deleted because she doesn't have large breasts, and therefore must be young (she's 22, for the official record.) But by and large, I was optomistic about the whole affair. I liked the fact that it was a community dedicated to open-minded artistic expression.
And now they're not allowing adult art anymore.
This in and of itself wouldn't bother me much, tho it is dissapointing to me, but for a comment one of the owners made on one of my fave artist's pages.
"We can't support your legally, morally, or bandwidth-wise."
Legally, fine. Tho honestly, the kind of things that many of these artists were posting are legal in most states, quite likely including the ones that the servers are located in, and digital storage is rather a grey area legally anyway. Not to mention the fact that -drawings- of sex are not strictly speaking qualified as "pornography" in the way photographs are and therefore the laws that apply are different from the ones one might expect.
Bandwidth-wise, hey, great. Fine. No problems with that at all. Images cost money to store, a free service is bound to have limitations.
But morally?
Let me ask you fuckers something. What the -hell- gives you the right to judge us morally? What god stepped down and spaketh unto you the laws by which all men should live, and He in His wisdom did sayeth unto you that those who draw smut doth draw ire from the Lord, and thus let them be cast down?
Let me make something abundantly clear, to you, and to every right-wing asshole that stumbles across this page. I am not a subscriber to Christian mythology, and I happen to think that there is nothing immoral about sex. It's a bodily function, and an expression of intimacy. Not something to be buried away and covered with blankets of shame and false morality.
While you cast us into the shadows for daring to be proud of the beauty of the human form and the wonder of sex and intimacy, others, people who lay claim to normalcy, routinely fuck around on their supposed partners. Bonds of trust and loyalty are broken time and again, and inexplicably, inevitably, reforged with but the slightest hint of tumult.
People who claim to be moral authorities, who ABSTAIN from sex and pornography find themselves so twisted by the cycle of self-loathing that they RAPE small children, but the world takes a blind eye for YEARS.
And the President of the United States slides a cigar into the vagina of a woman who is not his wife, fornicates in the Oval Office itself, breaking from the dignity of the institution and violating his sworn oath to his wife, and he finds himself with tremendous approval ratings, and his supporters preach "forgive and forget" left and right.
But a comic store owner in Dallas Texas sells an adult oriented comic to an adult after checking ID to verify and he goes to jail.
And socially balanced artists who happen to have no taboos about drawing, discussing, or sharing the glory of SEX, well, society certainly can't defend -them-.
I find myself sick and -tired- of the HYPOCRACY and the negative stigmas tied to sex because of ancient values and outdated traditions. I'm sick of being judged as immoral by small minded neanderthals who're too busy perpetuating the humdrum saga of their pathetic existences to open their minds to another perspective.
So enjoy yourself, passing judgement over me and mine. Enjoy your pathetic, close-minded little lives. I'll be -elsewhere-.
